I’m sure that Mrs. Hudson’s husband committed a great number of crimes in order to get sentenced to death. From the way she flinches when Sherlock slams his hands on the table, I’d say it’s safe to bet that one of his many crimes was spousal abuse.

That would certainly account for why Sherlock ensured his execution.

And why Sherlock got so enraged when he saw that she had been hurt

And why she acted as if she were perfectly fine when she was hurt.

Some people DO need to be told how to raise their children e.g. parents who use violence as a punishment and those who overfeed their kids.

As for vaccines, there’s a lot of people around Wales atm that really wish they got their kids vaccinated instead of listening to Daily Mail headlines.

Yeah - pretty sure people who don’t vaccinate their kids are being told how to bring up their kids, except they’re being told by another party.

They didn’t all individually pull it out of thin air, some quack falsified findings and used it to massively publicise himself, telling people not to vaccinate.

Personally, I’m of the opinion that people who are dumb and reckless enough to believe the anti-vaxxer bullshit have no business having custody of a houseplant, let alone a child

The other issue is that choosing not to vaccinate a child is not a decision that only impacts the parent and child, as a lot of these people argue. It impacts society as a whole. There are people (like myself) who cannot get vaccinated against certain things for legitimate medical reasons. It’s not going to make me hyperactive, or cause autism, or whatever the anti-vaxxers are going on about this week. They make my immune system go fucking bonkers and I basically end up with flu-like symptoms (to the point of severe dehydration) for up to several months. I also sometimes end up with cysts at the injection sites. If your child reacts in a manner like this to vaccines, it is a valid reason to consider avoiding them. If you heard from your neighbour who read in a magazine that a celebrity said they were a bad idea, it is not.

So I have to rely on herd immunity. When enough people choose not to vaccinate for no good reason, people who have to rely on herd immunity are the ones who suffer.

For a while, about three years ago now, I worked (volunteered) at Dr Jenner’s House, The Edward Jenner Museum. What small contact I had with the archives and resources there was enough to convince me forever that, even if there are risks, vaccination is the way to go.

If we didn’t have vaccination we’d still be engaging in the horror that was variolation. Every parent out there should be thankful that that is not the case.

Regarding what Moony (Moonblossom) said, every anti-vaccination person out there should take a moment to appreciate: THE ONLY REASON YOU CAN CHOSE NOT TO VACCINATE, IS BECAUSE THE MAJORITY DO. If you can be vaccinated and don’t — well, where’s the fairness in that?
